I’ve painted many family and children’s portraits. The joy for me is
describing the sitter’s personality graphically,
not just their features, but their environment and attitude as well. The portrait "Drew" embodies this spirit.
Some portraits are casual, others are traditional. My
favorite portraits involve research, where the sitter’s heritage is reflected
in subtle, or obvious ways. Most clients
don’t have the time to sit for portraits, so I work from favorite photos.
Sometimes I work from a concept, where we
arrange photo shoots, and create a fantasy environment "Portrait of Mother and Child" on this page is an example of that.
Portraits are available in different sizes and media, oil, pencil, watercolor
and mixed media. A painted portrait follows in the tradition of generations. They preserve a moment in time
forever, and are wonderful heirlooms. |
