These landscape paintings represent a time when I was reawakened to my roots in the Dominican Republic. I returned there after a fifteen year absence, and was overwhelmed by the beauty of the island. . . the vegetation is beautiful and mysterious. I sat outdoors and painted in the jungle surrounded by mosquitoes and lizards. These are highly personal pieces.
